LOCATION - Lat 45°45'01", long 116°19'26" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NE 1/4 NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.22, T.28 N., R.1 E., Idaho County, ID, Hydrologic Unit 17060209, White Bird quad., on left bank 0.1 mi upstream from White Bird Creek, 0.6 mi downstream from Canfield-Joseph highway bridge, 1 mi southwest of White Bird, and at mile 53.7.
DRAINAGE AREA - 13,421 mi². does not include White Bird Creek.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WSP 753: 1932. WSP 1043: Drainage area. WDR-US-2010: Drainage area.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1910 to September 1917, October 1919 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 1,412.65 ft above NGVD of 1929. Aug. 18, 1910 to Sept. 30, 1917 and Oct. 1, 1919 to Sept. 13, 1920, non recording gages at site 600 ft downstream at different datum. Sept. 14, 1920 to Jan. 2, 1931, non recording gage on highway bridge 200 ft upstream at datum 10 ft higher.
REMARKS - Diversions above station for irrigation of about 165,000 acres, of which about 1,200 acres are irrigated by withdrawals from groundwater (1966 determination). Records include flow of White Bird Creek.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 130,000 ft³/s June 17, 1974, gage height, 35.81 ft; minimum daily, 1,000 ft³/s Jan. 4, 1995.
