USGS Water-Year Summary 2021
LOCATION - Lat 44°09'45", long 122°19'55" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.21, T.16 S., R.4 E., Lane County, OR, Hydrologic Unit 17090004, on right bank, 0.3 mi upstream from Simmonds Creek, 0.7 mi north of town of Blue River, 0.8 mi downstream from Blue River Dam and at mile 0.9.
DRAINAGE AREA - 87.7 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 1966 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1,056.53 ft above NGVD of 1929 (U. S. Army Corps of Engineers bench mark). Prior to Aug. 25, 1966, nonrecording gage at datum 0.80 ft higher.
REMARKS - Flow regulated since October 1968 by Blue River Lake (active capacity, 85,550 acre-ft). No diversion upstream from station. Discharge not adjusted for storage or release from Blue River Lake as losses from reservoir at times exceed natural flow.
EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD - Flood of Dec. 22, 1964, reached a stage of 16.5 ft, from floodmark.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 7,270 ft³/s Feb. 23, 1968, gage height, 8.93 ft; minimum discharge, 0.80 ft³/s Oct. 8, 10, 11, 1968; minimum daily discharge, 3.7 ft³/s Oct. 8, 1968.

SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: May 2019 to current year.

pH: May 2019 to current year.

WATER TEMPERATURE: August 1966 to November 1999, August 2001 to current year.

DISSOLVED OXYGEN: May 2019 to current year.

TURBIDITY: January 2003 to September 2006, May 2019 to current year.

REMARKS - TURBIDITY: Data collected using a YSI EXO2 sonde. Manufacturer's stated accuracy is the greater of +/- 2 percent of reading or 0.3 Formazin Nephelometric Units (FNU) for 0-999 FNU, and +/- 5 percent for 1,000-4,000 FNU. FNU values below 10 are reported to nearest 0.1 FNU. Negative recorded values are reported as 0.0 FNU. Prior to May 2019 data was collected using an Analite 395 turbidity probe. Additional parameters collected at this location are available via NWISWeb.

SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum, 57 microsiemens Nov. 19, 2019; minimum, 28 microsiemens May 20-31, June 1-4, 2019.

pH: Maximum, 8.3 units July 6, 7, 12, 2020, minimum, 6.5 units Dec. 22-24, 2019.

WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 26.0°C July 6, 1968; minimum, 0.0°C Jan. 5-9, 1974, Dec. 23, 24, 1983.

DISSOLVED OXYGEN: Maximum, 13.6 mg/L Feb. 28, 2020; minimum, 8.8 mg/L Sept. 16, 17, 26-29, 2019. 

TURBIDITY: Maximum, 105 FNU Nov. 29, 2003; minimum, <1 FNU on many days most years.
