LOCATION - Lat 46°01'58", long 122°18'42" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.04, T.6 N., R.4 E., Cowlitz County, WA, Hydrologic Unit 17080002, on east shore, mid-reservoir, 1 mi SW of Cougar, WA.
DRAINAGE AREA - 596 sq. mi.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2017 to current year. (February 2010 to September 2017 are unpublished, data available in files of Washington Water Science Center.)
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929.
COOPERATION - Gage is on the property of and in cooperation with Pacificorp.
REMARKS - Reservoir is formed by rock and earthfill dam; storage began July 31, 1952; dam completed in 1952. Usable capacity, 185,000 acre-ft between elevations 430 ft, lower limit for economic operation, and 490 ft, top of spillway gates. Dead storage below elevation 417 ft, 168,800 acre-ft. Water is used by PacifiCorp for power generation.
