LOCATION - Lat 43°11'08", long 122°09'56" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Douglas County, OR, Hydrologic Unit 17100301, T. 27 S., R. 6 E., Umpqua National Forest, at shore of lake and near mouth of Lake Creek canal.
DRAINAGE AREA - 53.9 mi². revised.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1971 to September 1977, November 2005 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929 (U.S. Forest Service bench mark). October 1971 to September 1977, at site on south shore of lake at different datum.
COOPERATION - Capacity table furnished by Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
REMARKS - Lake regulated by flash boards at outlet (Lake Creek). Flash boards are removed each fall and replaced after runoff each summer. During water year 2006, lake elevation controlled by Lake Creek Canal, 100 ft west of Lake Creek, for the purpose of lowering the lake level to remove unwanted baitfish population. Month-end contents and change in contents discontinued water year 2014.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum contents, 80,040 acre-ft Dec. 5, 2012, elevation, 5,184.56 ft; minimum contents recorded, 52,940 acre-ft (estimate), Aug. 16, 2006, elevation, 5,175.37 ft, but may have been lower during period of missing record Aug. 18 to Oct. 25, 2006.
