Water Temperature:  The water-temperature probe is a USGS HIFF approved/provided/calibrated Forest Technology Systems Digi-Temp submersible temperature sensor used for continuous measurements. Thermistor is encapsulated in a 0.65-inch diameter, Delrin housing with a molded end loop. The sensor is fished through 1-inch aluminum flex-conduit into water channel affixed to modified metal pipe for protection with openings for water to free flow. It has a measurement range of -5 to +45 degrees C with an accuracy of +/- 0.2 degrees C. The Digi-Temp connects via three wire terminations directly to a Sutron 522 datalogger’s SDI-12 input. The instrument logs in-situ-samples at 15 minutes time periods, stored in datalogger.  At time of each inspection, temperature is checked against reference hand-held sensor (Digi-Temp) that is additionally calibrated against a NRST “traceable” mercury stem thermometer and within 0.2 deg C at time of annual calibration checks.  If corrections are required to time-series records that are made against the difference of the reference thermistor.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Extreme for period of record for WT occurred on 8/4/2023 at 13.6 Deg C.
