LOCATION - Lat 59°35'12", long 139°29'33" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in SE 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.09, T.27 S., R.35 E., City & Borough of Yakutat, AK, Hydrologic Unit 19010405, (Yakutat C-4 quad.), in Tongass National Forest, on left bank 20 ft downstream from Alsek Road bridge, 3.5 mi downstream from Situk Lake, 8.8 mi northeast of Yakutat, and 10 mi upstream from mouth.

Recording interval changed to 15-minutes on March 6, 1996. Recording interval changed to hourly on August 10, 2010 and then back to 15-minutes shortly afterward.
