LOCATION - Lat 21°19'41.6", long 157°47'58.6" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Honolulu County, HI, Hydrologic Unit 20060000, on right bank 5 feet downstream from bridge on Waaloa Way, 500 feet upstream from confluence with Waihi Stream, and 4.2 miles northeast of Honolulu Post Office.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1.05 mi². from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated September 2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated May 2008, using UTM Zone 4 projection, NAD 83 horizontal datum.

GAGE - Water-stage recorder and combination Parshall flume and 8 ft Hoffmann-type v-nothch weir concrete weir. Datum of gage is 294.50 feet above mean sea level (City and County of Honolulu street monument; previously recorded incorrectly as Honolulu Board of Water Supply benchmark).
Prior to May 20, 1914, nonrecording gage at site 200 feet upstream at different datum. May 20, 1914 to January 16, 1921, water-stage recorder at site 30 feet upstream at different datum. August 18, 1925 to March 15, 1928, water-stage recorder at present site at datum 2.99 feet lower than present datum. March 16, 1928 to October 18, 1933, water-stage recorder at present site at datum 0.41 feet higher than present datum.
In October, 1933 the present control was built at current datum, consisting of a 3-ft Parshall flume and an 8-ft Hofmann type v-notch weir. Zero flow was set at 0.00 ft of the gage which was set in the flume. The low point of the v-notch weir was at elevation 1.06 ft, gage datum at that time.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 3,890 ft³/s, gage height 6.06 ft, February 4, 1965; Maximum gage height, January 16, 1921, 10.4 feet, from floodmarks, site and datum then in use, from rating curve extended above 58 ft³/s; minimum, 0.6 ft³/s, June 7, 8, 1926.
