LOCATION - Lat 19°12'28.0", long 155°28'37.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Hawaii County, HI, Hydrologic Unit 20010000, on right bank 50 ft downstream from Wood Valley Road bridge and 0.7 mi north of Pahala.
DRAINAGE AREA - 1.66 mi². from automated delineation using 10-meter National Elevation Dataset digital elevation model data dated September 2006 and Watershed Boundary Dataset dated May 2008, using UTM Zone 4 projection, NAD 83 horizontal datum.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR HI-01-1: 1963 (P), 1965-77 (P), 1979-90 (P), 1997-98 (P). WDR HI-10-1: Drainage Area.
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1962-1979, 2001 to current year. Annual maximum 1999-2001.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 972 ft above mean sea level (from stadia survey). Nonrecording gage water years 1994 to 1998 and 2001. Prior to October 1, 2001, at datum 2.00 ft higher.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 4,480 ft³/s, November 2, 2000, gage height, 12.02 ft ( datum then in use), from floodmarks and culvert computation with road-over-flow section; no flow for many days.
