LOCATION - Lat 22°04'15.2", long 159°29'52.7" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Kauai County, HI, Hydrologic Unit 20070000, 3/4 mi north of Kawaikini summit (5,240 ft) and on the eastern edge of Alakai Swamp.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1910 to current year. Prior to October 1992, unpublished records are in files of the U.S. Geological Survey and at the National Weather Service.
INSTRUMENTATION - Electronic data logger with a tipping bucket catchment (0.01 in. per tip) and a non-standard auxiliary accumulation cans with a capacity 300 inches, ratio 1:10. Elevation of gage is 5,150 ft (from topographic map).
REMARKS - Rainfall recorded in hundredths of an inch.
