LOCATION - Lat 25°11'15.55", long 81°07'58" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Monroe County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090203, located on left bank, 0.7 mi upstream of the Middle Cape Canal, 17 mi west of Flamingo.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2011 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with acoustic stage transducer and acoustic Doppler velocity meter. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
REMARKS - Streamflow at this site significantly affected by astronomical tides. Daily mean discharge computed from filtered unit value discharge data. The Godin low-pass filter used to remove principal tidal frequencies from unit values. Positive flow (ebb tide) is generally to the west direction and negative discharge (flood tide) to the east. Discharge and gage height records, are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Discharge and gage height 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis. Discrete water quality data is available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
