LOCATION - Lat 25°11'54.1", long 80°47'19.2" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in sec.23, T.60 S., R.35 E., Miami-Dade County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, right bank, approximately 0.9 mi southeast of West Lake Outlet to Long Lake near Flamingo, FL, 3.2 mi upstream of Alligator Creek near Garfield Bight, FL, and 8.5 mi east of the marina in Flamingo.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2014 to current year.
GAGE - Acoustic Doppler velocity meter with up-looking acoustic stage sensor. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
REMARKS - Positive flow is towards Long Lake and Florida Bay. The discharge for this station is more affected by wind than astronomical tides. Discharge at wind-driven sites may require a different filter (subtidal) than the Godin low-pass filter. Discharge and gage height records are available in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey.
