Click to hide Water-Year Summary instructions and information
  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2023
251241080385300 UPSTREAM TAYLOR RIVER NEAR HOMESTEAD, FL
LOCATION - Lat 25°12'37.07", long 80°38'51.60" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in T.60 S., R.37 E., Miami-Dade County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, located upstream on the left bank, approximately 12 mi northwest of Key Largo.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
REVISIONS HISTORY - For Specific Conductance (BOTTOM) minimum recorded 680 uS/cm @25°C Dec. 2, 2013 has been revised. Supersede the minimum extremes for the Period of Record previously published for 2014-2016 WY.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 1999 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with water-stage shaft encoder and acoustic Doppler velocity meter. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
REMARKS - Daily mean discharge is not published. The discharge for this station is more affected by wind than astronomical tides. Discharge at wind-driven sites may require a different filter (subtidal) than the Godin low-pass filter. Mean monthly discharge tables for the period of record are published. Mean monthly discharge tables only include months with a complete record of daily mean discharges. Discharge and gage height records are available in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Discharge and gage height 15 minute data and mean monthly discharge data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

DISCHARGE: Maximum positive discharge, 55.7 ft³/s Oct. 31, 2005; maximum negative, 60.8 ft³/s Oct. 24, 2005.

GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum gage height, 2.90 ft Sept.10, 2017; minimum, -1.46 ft Jan. 31, Feb. 6, 2009.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - SALINITY (TOP): August 1999 to September 2011. Discontinued. SALINITY (BOTTOM):August 1999 to current year. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE (TOP): October 2010 to September 2011. Discontinued. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE (BOTTOM): October 2010 to current year. WATER TEMPERATURE (TOP): August 1999 to September 2011. Discontinued. WATER TEMPERATURE (BOTTOM): August 1999 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor with bottom sensor.
REMARKS - Prior to July 26, 2010, salinity computed directly from specific conductance using a conversion within the water quality monitor. July 26, 2010 to current year, salinity computed from corrected specific conductance data using a rating in the NWIS database. Salinity and temperature records are available in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Salinity and temperature 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
