  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2023
251253080320100 TROUT CREEK AT MOUTH NEAR KEY LARGO, FL
LOCATION - Lat 25°12'53.63", long 80°32'00.62" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in T.38 S., R.60 E., Miami-Dade County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, located on left bank, 100 ft upstream of mouth of Trout Creek, 10 mi northwest of Key Largo.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
REVISIONS HISTORY - WDR-US-2008, site 251253080320100; 2005, 2006, 2007, (unit values gage height). Revised record superseding those published at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. See REMARKS.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - January 1996 to February 1996 (gage-heights only), February 1996 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with water-stage shaft encoder and acoustic Doppler velocity meter. Datum of gage is North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88).
REMARKS - Daily mean discharge is not published. The discharge for this station is more affected by wind than astronomical tides. Discharge at wind-driven sites may require a different filter (subtidal) than the Godin low-pass filter. Mean monthly discharge tables for the period of record are published. Mean monthly discharge tables only include months with a complete record of daily mean discharges. Discharge and gage height records are available in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Discharge and gage height 15 minute data and mean monthly discharge data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values for gage height are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - DISCHARGE: Maximum positive discharge, 3,050 ft³/s Oct. 24, 2005; maximum negative, 5,140 ft³/s Oct. 24, 2005. GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum gage height, 2.84 ft Oct. 24, 2005; minimum, -1.74 ft Mar. 9, 10, 1996.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - SALINITY (TOP): January 1996 to September 2011. Discontinued. SALINITY (BOTTOM): January 1996 to current year. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE (TOP): September 2010 to September 2011. Discontinued. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE (BOTTOM): September 2010 to current year. WATER TEMPERATURE (TOP): January 1996 to September 2011. Discontinued. WATER TEMPERATURE (BOTTOM): January 1996 to current year.
INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor with top and bottom sensors.
REMARKS - Prior to Sept. 16, 2010 salinity was computed directly from specific conductance using a conversion within the continuous water quality monitor. From Sept. 16, 2010 to current year, salinity is computed from corrected specific conductance data using a rating in the NWIS database. During periods of missing record, values may be higher or lower than the listed extremes. Salinity and water temperature records are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey. Salinity and water temperature 15 minute data can also be accessed online at http://sofia.usgs.gov/. Daily values of salinity and water temperature are available online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
