LOCATION - Lat 25°54'38.6", long 80°10'30.6" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.20, T.52 S., R.42 E., Miami-Dade County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090202, at corner of NE 12th Avenue and NE 147th Street in North Miami Beach, 1.3 mi west of U.S. Highway 1.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 20 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 17.1 ft, bottom of last opening 17.2 ft. (Revised).Prior to January 2013, the well was cased with a 6-in diameter steel casing to 10.5 ft. See REMARKS.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 6.50 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: top of casing, 8.64 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Oct. 1, 1973 to Apr. 1, 1983; top of base, 8.56 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Mar. 1, 1983 to Dec. 1, 1988; top of base, 8.52 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Nov. 1, 1988 to Jul. 14, 1989; top of base, 8.38 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Jul. 14, 1989 to Jan. 31, 2013; top of base, 9.38 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Jan. 31, 2013 to present. Land-surface datum is 4.98 ft (Revised), above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 1959 to current year.
GAGE - Satellite data collection platform.
REMARKS - Records of water levels prior to October 1973 are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey. The figures of water level as elevation, in feet NGVD, from October 1997 to September 2000, are in error by -0.02 ft. In December 2012, the well casing broke off at land-surface. In January 2013, a 4-in PVC well casing was installed inside the remaining 6-in steel casing. A section of 12-in corrugated steel pipe was installed around the exposed casing to limit further damage, and grouted to prevent contamination by surface runoff. See WELL CHARACTERISTICS.
