  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2024
255534081324000 PUMPKIN RIVER NEAR GOODLAND, FL
LOCATION - Lat 25°55'33.6", long 81°32'39.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Collier County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03090204, on left bank approximately 1 mi from mouth of river, 9 mi southwest of Port Of The Islands.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -

DISCHARGE: April 2007 to September 2008, July 2010 to current year.

GAGE HEIGHT: April 2007 to September 2008, July 2010 to current year.

GAGE - Satellite data collection platform with water-stage encoder and acoustic Doppler velocity meter. Datum of gage is 7.12 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988.
REMARKS - Streamflow at this site is significantly affected by astronomical tides. Daily mean discharge was computed from filtered unit value discharge data. The Godin low-pass filter was used to remove principal tidal frequencies from unit values. Positive discharge is generally to the southwest and negative discharge to the northeast. Discharge and gage height data are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey and online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD -

DISCHARGE: Maximum positive discharge (unfiltered), 603 ft³/s Aug. 30, 2023; maximum negative (unfiltered), 1,555 ft³/s Sept. 10, 2017 (last recorded value of Hurricane Irma storm surge before station was flooded; value likely exceeded).

GAGE HEIGHT: Maximum gage height, 13.62 ft Sept. 10, 2017 (debris line from Hurricane Irma, accuracy > 0.4 ft); minimum, 4.19 ft Mar. 5, 2012.

WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD -

SALINITY (TOP): April 2007 to September 2008, June 2010 to September 2011 (discontinued).

SALINITY (BOTTOM): April 2007 to September 2008, July 2010 to current year.

WATER TEMPERATURE (TOP): April 2007 to September 2008, June 2010 to September 2011 (discontinued).

WATER TEMPERATURE (BOTTOM): April 2007 to September 2008, July 2010 to current year.

INSTRUMENTATION - Water-quality monitor.
REMARKS - Salinity and water temperature sensors were located at surface (TOP) and 3.2 ft (BOTTOM) at arbitrary datum elevation. The top probe was removed on Oct. 5, 2011. The bottom probe was moved to a new arbitrary elevation of 3.8 ft on Oct. 22, 2015. During periods of missing record, values may be higher or lower than the listed extremes. Salinity and water temperature data are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey and online at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis.
