LOCATION - Lat 27°17'58.9", long 81°49'28.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.33, T.36 S., R.25 E., DeSoto County, FL, Hydrologic Unit 03100101, 235 ft east of U. S. Highway 17, and 3.8 mi south of Gardner.
REVISIONS HISTORY - The maximum water level elevations for April 21, 2004 to September 30, 2005 were published in error. These data have been corrected in the files of the U.S. Geological Survey. WDR-US-2007:Land-surface datum. The figures of water level as elevation, in feet NGVD, prior to Oct. 1, 1980, are in error. Correct elevations for data published prior to this date may be obtained by using datum correction of -2.03 ft. Revised records are in files of the Geological Survey.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 1,320 ft. Upper casing diameter 12 in; top of first opening 580 ft, bottom of last opening 1,320 ft. Drilled, observation well.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 75.37 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of recorder shelter floor, 2.49 ft above land-surface datum, UNDEFINED BEGIN DATE to present. Land surface datum is 74.33 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Water level elevations computed using NGVD 29 in order to maintain consistency with historical records.
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 1978 to September 2010; October 2010 to September 2011 (miscellaneous water level measurements), discontinued.
GAGE - Miscellaneous measurement with chalked tape.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest daily maximum water level, 51.28 ft NGVD, Oct. 5, 1979; lowest, 19.62 ft NGVD, Jan. 5, 2001.
