LOCATION - Lat 29°28'59", long 90°00'40" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Jefferson Parish, LA, Hydrologic Unit 08090301, on Grand Isle platform station 12.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 2013 to September 2014. December 2003 to September 2013 (Stage and Discharge). August 2001 to December 2003, at site 300 ft downstream, not equivalent because datum could not be related to current location due to gage destruction.
REVISED RECORDS - 2005 water year minimum gage height, 2.56 ft, Dec 14, 2005.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and acoustic velocity meter. Datum of gage is 4.247 ft below NAVD 88. Prior to June 18, 2009 datum of gage was 3.81 feet below NAVD88.
REMARKS - Site affected by tide and wind at all stages. Records for August 24 to September 30, 2001 are available at the USGS Louisiana Water Science Center.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum positive discharge, 152,000 ft³/s, May 24, 2012, Nov. 12, 2012; maximum gage height, 8.33 ft, Sept. 3, 2011; maximum negative discharge, -103,000 ft³/s, Sep 23, 2005; minimum gage height, 2.12 ft, June 5, 2006. Extremes may have been higher or lower during periods of missing record due to Hurricanes.
