LOCATION - Lat 33°56'29", long 78°11'55" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Brunswick County, NC, Hydrologic Unit 03040208, 1 mi north of Sunset Harbor, and 4.3 mi south of North Carolina Highway 211 on Secondary Road 1112.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 15 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 10 ft, bottom of last opening 15 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 34 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Top of collar on casing, 2.65 ft above land-surface datum, Aug. 19, 1986 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 1986 to September 1997, October 2000 to current year. Continuous records January 1987 to September 1997, October 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-level recorder collecting data at 15-minute intervals. Satellite telemetry at site.
COOPERATION - Station operated in cooperation with Brunswick County.
REMARKS - Well is part of Brunswick County groundwater monitoring program. Water levels may be affected by local pumping.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded is not determined due to equipment failure as a result of Hurricane Florence flooding event, September 15-16, 2018; lowest water level recorded, 14.27 ft below land-surface datum, October 31, 2003.
