LOCATION - Lat 36°40'59", long 76°54'49" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Isle of Wight County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 03010202, off U.S. Highways 258 and 58, 200 ft west of the intersection of U.S. Highways 258 and 58 and Lynn Road, and 0.3 mi east of Franklin. Owner: International Paper Company, formerly Union Camp Corporation.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 306 ft. Upper casing diameter 6 in; top of first opening 285.5 ft, bottom of last opening 305.5 ft. Drilled observation water well, screened 285.5 to 305.5 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 25 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF CASING, 0.45 ft above land-surface datum, Nov. 28, 1979 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 1960 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. May 27, 1988 to Nov. 3, 1999, digital recorder 60-minute record interval. Prior to May 27, 1988, continuous strip-chart recorder.
REMARKS - Well is located in Middle Potomac aquifer of Cretaceous age. Water level affected by local pumpage and regional drawdown.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 99.00 ft below land-surface datum, Dec. 27, 1960; lowest recorded, 217.62 ft below land-surface datum, Aug. 27, 30, 31, 2008.
