LOCATION - Lat 36°43'24.83", long 76°01'15.22" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Virginia Beach City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 03010205, 40 ft north of Indian River Road, 0.2 mi west of the intersection of Indian River Road and Princess Anne Road in Virginia Beach. Owner: City of Virginia Beach.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 135 ft. Upper casing diameter 3 in; top of first opening 120 ft, bottom of last opening 130 ft. Drilled water well, screened 120 to 130 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 10 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF PVC CASING INDICATED BY BLACK MARK ON CASING, 2.44 ft above land-surface datum, Dec. 8, 1999 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1981, August 1999 to current year. Unpublished records available prior to October 2002 in files of the USGS.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to Mar. 11, 2005, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Well is located in Yorktown-Eastover aquifer of Miocene-Pliocene age. Water levels affected by frequent nearby pumpage.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 6.29 ft below land-surface datum, Mar. 6, 2013; lowest recorded, 13.58 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 21, 2007, result of nearby pumpage.
