LOCATION - Lat 36°52'56.03", long 76°03'19.95" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Virginia Beach City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080108, 0.6 mi west of intersection of State Highway 279 and Shorehaven Drive, at Great Neck Park. Owner: City of Virginia Beach.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 157 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 140 ft, bottom of last opening 150 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 15.72 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF PVC CASING, INDICATED BY BLACK MARK, 1.96 ft above land-surface datum, Apr. 14, 2009 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2008 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to Apr. 3, 2013, occasional measurement with chalked tape by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Well is located in Yorktown-Eastover aquifer of Miocene-Pliocene age.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 16.63 ft below land-surface datum, Mar. 21, 2016; lowest measured, 29.74 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 10, 2008.
