  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

USGS Water-Year Summary 2023
370539093494002 Mt. Vernon Springfield Plateau Aquifer
Ozark Plateaus aquifer system
Osagean Series
LOCATION - Lat 37°05'39.1", long 93°49'40.4" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.36, T.28 N., R.27 W., Lawrence County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 11070207,
REVISIONS HISTORY -
Revisions: Land-surface datum was updated to 1,218.45 ft NAVD88 on May 22, 2023, as determined by a GNSS survey by Missouri DNR. Land-surface datum was previously published as 1,215 ft NGVD29 from a topographic map. Discrete water-level measurements prior to May 22, 2023, are referenced to the original datum.

Because this well is not in good hydraulic connection with the aquifer, its daily fluctuation is small. Gage resets less than 0.1 ft appear as data offsets at this site. It was decided to apply prorated corrections to gage resets that occurred in wy 2008 even though the corrections were small and the data had been previously approved. A prorated correction from zero to 0.08 ft was applied to the period 10/02/2007 to 11/06/2007. A prorated correction from zero to 0.06 ft was applied to the period 11/06/2007 to 01/22/2008. A prorated correction from zero to 0.03 ft was applied to the period 01/22/2008 to 09/11/2008. The record from 02/07/2010 to 04/07/2010 was modified after it was previously set to 'Approved' by applying a -0.01 ft correction to the period to improve the data according to a water level measurement on 04/07/2010 that was previously ignored.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,218.45 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: DNR DCP platform, 1.5 ft above land-surface datum, May. 1, 2007 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 09, 2007 to present.
GAGE - May 10, 2007 to present; Water level recording device is a DCP with telemetry capability; the water level measuring device is a float and encoder.
COOPERATION - Data furnished by Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR). Data processed by USGS and MDNR.
REMARKS - Data from 05/09/2007 to 09/30/2008 has been processed by the USGS with 10 field water level measurements during the period to verify the recorded water levels. This record is considered good and recorded water levels are accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Data from 10/01/2008 to 12/07/2009 is good based on 4 water level measurements used to verify the data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Data from 12/08/2009 to 04/08/2010 is good based on 1 water level measurement used to verify the data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. This well is drilled into rock with a low hydraulic conductivity and the water levels had a slow recovery time from the well drilling and the well shows very little water level fluctuations. The gage is occaisionally reset to the water level measurement taken during field visits. These reset are less than 0.1 foot and prorated corrections are not applied from one field visit to the next because the electric tapes have not been calibrated. The record from 04/08/2010 to 07/19/2010 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 07/19/2010 to 10/13/2011 is good based on 6 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 10/13/2011 to 07/31/2012 is good based on 4 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft The record from 08/01/2012 to 10/07/2013 is good based on 5 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 10/08/2013 to 12/09/2014 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 12/10/2014 to 05/16/2016 is good based on 4 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 05/17/2016 to 03/28/2017 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 03/29/2017 to 11/27/2017 is good based on 1 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 11/28/2017 to 03/27/2018 is good based on 1 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 03/28/2018 to 09/17/2018 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 09/18/2018 to 01/09/2019 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 01/10/2019 to 06/25/2019 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 06/26/2019 to 01/13/2020 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft.
