REVISIONS HISTORY - Revisions: Groundwater levels above NGVD of 1929 and NAVD of 1988 from January 26, 1968, at 21:30 UTC to June 11, 2025, at 18:22 UTC were revised on July 22, 2025, because land-surface datum was resurveyed. The previous land-surface datum was 5,538.2 ft above NGVD of 1929. The current/updated land-surface datum is 5,535.71 ft above NAVD of 1988.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 2,183 ft. Upper casing diameter 10.05 in; top of first opening 1,629 ft, bottom of last opening 5,004 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 5,538.2 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: Top of 2 1/2-ft steel flange surrounding a 10 3/4 inch O.D. steel casing, north side, 2.45 ft above land-surface datum, Jun. 12, 1986 to present. The NAVD of 1988 datum was determined by a level 2 GNSS survey (Reference Frame NAD_83 (2011) (EPOCH:2010.0000), GEOID18) by USGS on June 9, 2025, and tied to the land-surface reference mark on the bottom of the steel plate near ground level. Prior to June 9, 2025, the land-surface datum was 5,538.2 ft above NGVD of 1929 as reported on a Fenix & Scisson, Inc., Hole History Data report dated 2/9/1968.

REMARKS - Periodic water-level measurements are made throughout the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) and adjacent areas to aid in characterizing the local and regional groundwater flow systems. The following data have been collected and reviewed according to quality-assurance requirements specific to the NNSS.
