LOCATION - Lat 37°25'46", long 76°53'29" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, James City, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02080206, 100 ft north of State Highway 603, and 700 ft east of the pumping station at Diascund Creek Reservoir, and 0.6 mi northwest of the intersection of U.S. Highway 60 and State Highway 603 in James City County. GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 735 ft. Upper casing diameter 12 in; top of first opening 515 ft, bottom of last opening 730 ft. Drilled observation water well, diameter 6 in. from 300 to 735 ft, screened 515 to 540 ft, 600 to 620 ft, 630 to 655 ft, 665 to 685 ft, 720 to 730 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 28 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: TOP OF CASING, 3.60 ft above land-surface datum, May 1, 1988 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - May 1988 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to Nov. 4, 1999, digital recorder, 60-minute record interval.
REMARKS - Well is located in Lower and Middle Potomac aquifers of Cretaceous age. Water level affected by regional drawdown.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 90.99 ft below land-surface datum, June 4, 1988; lowest recorded, 127.09 ft below land-surface datum, Oct. 26, 2015.
