Click to hide Water-Year Summary instructions and information
  • Water-Year Summary reports summarize a year of hydrologic data in a printer-friendly format.
  • For water years 2014 onward, choose a water year and parameter and an on-demand Water-Year Summary report will be generated.
  • For water years 2006 through 2013, choose a water year and an Annual Water Data Report will be provided.
  • For water years 2005 and earlier, Annual Water Data Reports may be available in digital format.
  • Not all sites have reports available for every water year.

LOCATION - Lat 39°42'56.1", long 94°52'47.8" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.31, T.57 N., R.35 W., Buchanan County, MO, Hydrologic Unit 10240011,
REVISIONS HISTORY -
Revisions: Land-surface datum was updated to 816.87 ft NAVD88 on May 22, 2023, as determined by a GNSS survey by Missouri DNR. Land-surface datum was previously published as 820 ft NAVD88 from topographic map. Discrete water-level measurements prior to May 22, 2023, are referenced to the original datum.

The record from 08/15/2012 to 11/04/2013 was set to 'working' from 'approved' on 03/02/2016. The next period showed that the pressure transducer was failing and was prone to spikes that increased in the later period. In the period from 8/15/2012 to 11/04/2013 the spikes were relatively small and appeared to be due nearby pumping. Later examination of these spikes showed a similarity to the later larger spikes that were indicative of a failing pressure transducer. The spikes in the record from 08/15/2012 to 11/04/2013 were deleted and the record later set back to 'approved' status.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 816.87 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: unknown, 0.6 ft above land-surface datum, Mar. 22, 1989 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - April 15, 1957 to present.
GAGE - April 15, 1957 to June 14, 2000 - either an A-35 strip chart or Stevens model 7001 digital recorder; June 15, 2000 to present telemetry DCP. June 15, 2000 to June 25, 2007 water level measuring device is float driven encoder. From June 26, 2007 to 07/01/2014, the water level measuring device was a submersible pressure transducer. Pressure Transducer failed and replaced with a float/encoder on 07/01/2014.
COOPERATION - Water level data from April 15, 1957 to present furnished by Missouri Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) except for the period March 22, 1989 to November 15, 1991 when the USGS maintained the ground water network. Water level record from June 17, 2000 to present is furnished by MDNR but processed by USGS and MDNR.
REMARKS - Furnished record rated poor (May 14, 1957 to March 22, 1989) because no water level measurements are available to verify daily values. There were several abrupt jumps in the data possibly caused by the float getting hung. Data for this period could not be verified and therefore was rated poor. Record from March 23, 1989 to November 15, 1991 rated good based on 37 water level measurements used to verify the recorded data. These data are accurate to +/- 0.1 ft. Furnished record rated poor (November 16, 1991 to June 14, 2000) because no water level measurements are available to verify daily values. There were several abrupt jumps in the data possibly caused by the float getting hung then being released. These data cannot be verified, therefore is rated poor. Furnished data from 06/15/2000 to 09/30/2008 has been processed by the USGS using 19 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded water levels. This record is considered good and accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Furnished data from 10/01/2008 to 10/06/2009 is good based on 4 water level measurements made during the period and accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Record from 10/06/2009 to 11/19/2010 is good based on 5 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. Record from 11/19/2010 to 09/08/2011 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 09/08/2011 to 08/14/2012 is good based on 2 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft The record from 08/15/2012 to 11/04/2013 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. The record from 11/05/2013 to 12/15/2014 is fair based on 5 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.20 ft. The pressure transducer tended to drift excessively until it was replaced with a float and encoder on 07/01/2014 The record from 12/16/2014 to 06/22/2016 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 03/15/2017 to 04/16/2018 is good based on 3 water level measurements made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.05 ft. The record from 04/17/2018 to 10/28/2018 is fair based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft. Fair rating is based on multiple months of missing data due to a dead battery. The record from 10/29/2018 to 04/16/2019 is good based on 1 water level measurement made during the period to verify the recorded data and is accurate to +/- 0.10 ft.

All further remarks can be found in RMS as of 07/15/2019.
