LOCATION - Lat 38°39'45", long 104°47'44" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, El Paso County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020003, on left bank 165 feet downstream from diversion structure on Little Fountain Creek at Fort Carson Military Reservation, 0.8 mile west of Haymes Reservoir, and 2.1 miles southwest of Butts Airfield.
DRAINAGE AREA - Indeterminate.
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1998 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder with satellite telemetry and a 24-inch Parshall flume control. Elevation of the gage is 5,770 feet above NGVD of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS - Water year 2014; records poor. Water year 2015; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor. Water year 2016; records fair except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.  Water year 2017; no flow for the water year. Records good. Natural flow of the stream is normally regulated by diversion from Little Fountain Creek, 165 feet upstream, but may be affected by local runoff and possible overflow from the diversion structure during floods.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum discharge, 200 ft³/s (estimated), Sept. 12, 2013, gage height, 5.00 ft, from floodmarks, from extension of rating curve based on standard 24-inch Parshall flume rating extended above 2.40 ft, based on hydrographic analysis.
