LOCATION - Lat 38°49'57.48", long 77°48'17.32" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Fauquier County, VA, Hydrologic Unit 02070010, Owner: Great Meadow Foundation.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 349.5 ft. Upper casing diameter 6.50 in; top of first opening 26.5 ft, bottom of last opening 110.14 ft. Drilled observation well, cased to 20 ft, open hole 20 to 349.5 ft.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 574 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF SHELF, 2.20 ft above land-surface datum, Sep. 13, 2006 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 2006 to current year.
GAGE - Electronic data logger and pressure transducer, 15-minute record interval. Prior to Oct. 1, 2006, occasional measurement with chalked tape by Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division personnel.
COOPERATION - Records provided by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality - Water Division.
REMARKS - Well is located in Catoctin Formation of late Proterozoic age. Water level affected by local intermittent pumpage. Water level affected by magnitude 5.8 Mineral, VA earthquake on Aug. 23, 2011.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 10.73 ft below land-surface datum, May 12, 2008; lowest water level recorded, 24.99 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 27, 2016.
