LOCATION - Lat 38°53'36.4", long 104°54'49.6" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.29, T.13 S., R.67 W., El Paso County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020003, in Pike National Forest near east rim of middle Williams Canyon, 50 ft west of Rampart Range Road, 2.0 mi north of U.S. Highway 24 bridge over Williams Canyon, 2.5 mi north of Manitou Springs City Hall, and 6.5 mi northwest of courthouse in Colorado Springs.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - August 2012 to October 2020, May 2022 to current year (seasonal records only).
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping-bucket rain gage with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is 7,940 ft above NAVD of 1988, from topographic map.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily precipitation, 4.17 inches, Sept. 12, 2013.
REMARKS - Gage operated seasonally, March through October. Unless otherwise noted, records are not rated, and periods of missing record are not estimated.
