LOCATION - Lat 38°57'39.8", long 104°40'55.2" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.33, T.12 S., R.65 W., El Paso County, CO, Hydrologic Unit 11020003, 30 ft northwest of Vollmer Road, 220 ft northeast of intersection of Lochwinnoch Lane and Vollmer Road, 1.4 mi north of East Woodmen Road Bridge over Sand Creek, and 11.9 mi northeast of courthouse in Colorado Springs.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - March 2011 to current year (seasonal records only).
INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping-bucket rain gage with satellite telemetry. Elevation of gage is 7,053 ft above NAVD of 1988, from topographic map.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum daily precipitation, 4.37 inches, Sept. 14, 2011.
REMARKS - Gage operated seasonally, March through October. Unless otherwise noted, records are not rated, and periods of missing record are not estimated.
