LOCATION - Lat 39°00'06", long 95°13'23" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, in NW 1/4 SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.17, T.12 S., R.20 E., Douglas County, KS, Hydrologic Unit 10270104, on east side of county road, 3.6 mi northeast of Lawrence. Owner: U.S. Geological Survey.
REVISIONS HISTORY - Elevations observed at 1200 hours and annual maximum and minimum elevations for water years 2001 through 2005 were revised by lowering elevations by 1.64 ft, superseding figures published in reports for water years 2001 through 2005.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 53 ft. Upper casing diameter 10 in; top of first opening undefined, bottom of last opening undefined. Drilled observation well.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 830.29 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Measuring point: MP is west side of hole in top of box, 3.60 ft above land-surface datum, Aug. 19, 1994 to present.
PERIOD OF RECORD - 1952 to September 2015 (discontinued).
GAGE - Float gage interfaced to a data-collection platform/data logger with a 1-hour update interval.
REMARKS - Water level fluctuates with Kansas River stage and nearby pumping.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum water level, 821.72 ft above NGVD of 1929, July 25, 1993; minimum, 805.22 ft above NGVD of 1929, Nov. 5, 2012.
