LOCATION - Lat 40°58'30.7", long 72°33'13.9" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Suffolk County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 02030202, at north side of Main Road (State Route 25), east side of access road to Laurel Lake, Mattituck.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 45 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 35 ft, bottom of last opening 45 ft.  
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 36.73 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Top of casing, 0.62 ft below land-surface datum, 37.38 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929, Jun. 7, 2000 to present.  
PERIOD OF RECORD - June 2000 to current year.
GAGE - Water-level recorder installed September 2004; 15-minute recording interval. Periodic manual measurements made by USGS personnel.
REMARKS - Replaced well S6558.1 in June 2000 near same location. Satellite water-level telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest water level recorded, 9.29 ft above NGVD of 1929 (8.35 ft above NAVD of 1988), Apr. 6, 7, 2010; lowest recorded, 1.13 ft above NGVD of 1929 (0.19 ft above NAVD of 1988), Oct. 6, 7, 2005.
