GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 241.2 ft. Upper casing diameter 3 in; top of first opening 216.2 ft, bottom of last opening 241.2 ft. Monitoring well.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,134.63 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF INNER CASING, 3 INCH SCH40 PVC. MP altitude surveyed 10/2007, 1.27 ft above land-surface datum, Mar. 9, 2001 to present. Land-surface datum is accurate within 0.1 ft.

COOPERATION - Groundwater-level data is collected as part of a USGS cooperative study with the Village of South Russell. The purpose of the long-term groundwater monitoring network in South Russell Village, Geauga County is to determine whether fluctuations in water levels represent consistent, long-term trends caused by human activity or are predominantly the result of seasonal and annual variations in recharge.
