LOCATION - Lat 41°26'11", long 81°21'06" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Geauga County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 04110003, Russell Township, South Russell Village.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 241.2 ft. Upper casing diameter 3 in; top of first opening 216.2 ft, bottom of last opening 241.2 ft. Monitoring well.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,134.63 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: TOP OF INNER CASING, 3 INCH SCH40 PVC. MP altitude surveyed 10/2007, 1.27 ft above land-surface datum, Mar. 9, 2001 to present. Land-surface datum is accurate within 0.1 ft.
PERIOD OF RECORD - Continuous water-level data from May 1, 2001 to March 27, 2015, December 19, 2019 to present. Periodic manual water level  measurements from March 27, 2001 to current year.
GAGE - Submersible pressure transducer with vented cable. Transducer internally logs data (records hourly).
COOPERATION - Groundwater-level data is collected as part of a USGS cooperative study with the Village of South Russell. The purpose of the long-term groundwater monitoring network in South Russell Village, Geauga County is to determine whether fluctuations in water levels represent consistent, long-term trends caused by human activity or are predominantly the result of seasonal and annual variations in recharge.
REMARKS - The continuous record is considered good except for periods of missing data due to equipment malfunctions or well maintenance. This well is affected by nearby residential pumping that can alter water levels by as much as 2 feet in a 24 hour period.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Minimum daily low, 177.69 ft below land-surface datum, Apr. 7, 2007; maximum daily low, 198.87 ft below land-surface datum, Aug. 31, 2010.
