PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1, 2015 to current year.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
INSTRUMENTATION - A Texas Electronics recording rain gage model TR-525USW was installed at the site on 11/13/2015, replacing the Rain-O-Matic previously used.
REMARKS - Calibration checks were made October 5, 2016 and April 27, 2017. A Texas Electronics rain gage calibration cylinder (473 ml) with the #65 nozzle size was used to determine accuracy of the rain gage. An optimum number or tips is 56 with a range of 53-59 as acceptable.Calibration takes approximately 27 minutes, with an expected rainfall amount of 0.56”, for an average rate of 1.24” per hour. No data corrections were made and the calibration checks were removed from the precipitation record. Records are considered good, except for estimated periods which are poor. X’d out values prior to migration to AQ were migrated as estimated, 10/5/16, 11/28/16 and 1/10/17. Deleted data 1/20/17 and 2/24/17 because of errant data while gage was covered. Deleted data 4/27/17 collected during calibration. Deleted data 10/11/17, 10/12/17 and 10/13/17 while cone was plugged. No calibration corrections were applied. The rest of the record is considered good.
