SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
GAGE - Continuous air temperature, relative humidity, wind speed, wind gust speed, wind direction, solar radiation, and battery voltage are measured with a HOBO U30-NRC weather station. These data are recorded quarter-hourly from 25 August 2016 at 12:45 CDT to the present by the HOBO U30-NRC weather station, which has a data logger built into it. The data logger is housed inside the weather-proof PVC shelter. The weather station gage is powered by a 3 watt solar panel and rechargeable station battery that is inside of the weather-proof PVC shelter. Data is downloaded manually and no telemetry or phone line is wired into the weather station gage.

An unheated Onset RG3 tipping-bucket rain gage was deployed at the site on 13 September 2016 at 15:30 CDT to 31 October 2018 at 13:15 CDT. The rain gage is mounted on a green T-post, located approximately 20 ft. west of the HOBO U30-NRC weather station, in the center of the buffer strip and ditch. The rain gage has a built-in datalogger, which measures and records precipitation quarter-hourly. Rain gage is nominally accurate to 0.01 inches.

The rain gage was removed from the site on 31 Oct. 2018 at 13:15 CDT. The weather station was discontinued at the site on 30 Oct. 2018 at 13:30 CDT. Data collection for the Impacts on Drainage Recharge study have concluded and all data logging equipment have been removed from the site.
COOPERATION - This site was operated (2016-2018) by the U.S. Geological Survey as a monitoring piezometer for the Southeast Minnesota Subsurface Drainage Impacts on Groundwater Recharge study. The piezometer began to be used as part of the Southeast Minnesota Subsurface Drainage Impacts on Groundwater Recharge study during 25 Aug. 2016 to 31 Oct. 2018. The GW Drainage Recharge study is a collaborative effort between the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (via Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR)) and the U.S. Geological Survey.
