LOCATION - Lat 44°24'50", long 68°17'52" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Hancock County, ME, Hydrologic Unit 01050002, on Crooked Road, approximately 500 ft west of Norway Drive, in Bar Harbor. Owner: U.S. Geological Survey.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 97.8 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 19.2 ft, bottom of last opening 97.8 ft. Drilled bedrock observation well, steel casing.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 24.78 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Top of steel casing between file marks, 1.8 ft above land-surface datum, Aug. 12, 2003 to present. Land-surface datum is at the general land surface.
PERIOD OF RECORD - September 2003 to October 2018 (discontinued).
GAGE - Electronic water-level recorder.
REMARKS - Water levels affected by earth tides. Gaps in record indicate missing data. Aquifer: Bedrock of Cambro-Ordovician age (Ellsworth Schist).
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Highest daily water level, 3.58 ft below land-surface datum, May 27, 2005; lowest daily water level, 8.03 ft below land-surface datum, Sept. 22, 2003.
