LOCATION - Lat 44°46'30.64", long 95°00'21.74" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Renville County, MN, Hydrologic Unit 07020004, The piezometer is located in Olivia, MN. The piezometer is located in a city park and camping area, 85 ft. east of the City of Olivia water tower. The piezometer is located approximately 0.5 miles SW of the intersection of MN HWY 212 (Lincoln Ave.) and MN HWY 71 (13th St.).
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 105.1 ft. Upper casing diameter 1.38 in; top of first opening 101.95 ft, bottom of last opening 104.97 ft. The hole for piezometer OT-105 was drilled with an 6.75-inch-diameter, rotosonic drill rig to a depth of 105.2 feet. The piezometer is constructed of a 3.02-feet-long, 1.38-inch-diameter, schedule-40 PVC, 0.010-inch slotted Brady Campbell Mfg. Inc. well screen, attached with glued PVC couplings with length/s of 20.00 feet of 1.38-inch-diameter, schedule-40 PVC well casing. The piezometer casing measuring point (stickup) was 2.64 feet (1074.25 ft. NAVD88, +/- 0.05 ft.) above land surface when measured on 08 Aug. 2017. The open interval of the piezometer is between 101.95 and 104.97 feet below land surface and the total well depth is 105.10 feet below land surface.

This piezometer is screened in a glacial till layer, which is the confining unit above a confined aquifer.
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 1,071.61 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: Black mark on top of 1.25-inch diameter well casing, not protection post, 2.64 ft above land-surface datum, Aug. 8, 2017 to present. The measuring point is a black mark on the top of the white PVC 1.38-inch well casing, which was 2.64 feet above land surface on 08 Aug. 2017. Elevation of the measuring point is 1074.25 plus-or-minus 0.05 feet above sea level, North American Vertical Datum of 1988, based on historical differential GPS data and an optical survey on 24 Oct. 2017.

GAGE - Continuous water level, water temperature, and battery voltage were measured with an OTT Orpheus Mini 0-10m pressure transducer. These data were recorded hourly by the same OTT Orpheus Mini pressure transducer, which had a data logger built into it. The data logger was housed inside of the 1.38-inch PVC well casing, which has an aluminum locking well cap on top the 6-inch black steel protection post. The gage was powered by 3 AA alkaline batteries that were inside of the data logger communications rod. Data was downloaded manually and no telemetry or phone line was wired into the gage.

The pressure transducer and data logger were removed from the well on 10 Oct. 2018 at 14:00 CDT. Data collection for the Confining Beds "phase 2" study have concluded and all data logging equipment have been removed from the sites.
COOPERATION - This site was operated (2017-2018) by the University of Minnesota as a monitoring well for the University of Minnesota Hydrogeology Field Site. The well was used as part of the Glacial Confining Beds Study during 08 Aug. 2017 to 10 Oct. 2018. The Confining Beds Study was a collaborative effort between the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, Iowa State University, Minnesota Geological Survey, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
