LOCATION - Lat 45°20'31.40", long 93°51'17.33" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec.20, T.33 N., R.28 W., Sherburne County, MN, Hydrologic Unit 07010203, The dirt road will go underneath large Excel Energy power transmission lines. Drive on this dirt road for 0.1 miles until you come to the edge of the woods. The well is located on the edge of the tree line, next to a yellow, steel pole with a cable stretched to another yellow, steel pole.
GROUNDWATER RECORDS
WELL CHARACTERISTICS - Depth 22.5 ft. Upper casing diameter 2 in; top of first opening 17.5 ft, bottom of last opening 22.5 ft. The hole for well ALUS-13 was drilled with an 8.25-inch-diameter, hollow-stem auger drill rig to a depth of 23 feet. The well is constructed of a 5-feet-long, 2.04-inch-diameter, schedule-40 PVC, 0.010-inch slotted, flush-threaded screen attached to length/s of 10.00 feet of 2.04-inch-diameter, schedule-40 PVC casing. The casing measuring point (stickup) was 2.42 feet (932.54 ft. NAVD88, +/- 0.06 ft.) above land surface when measured on Aug. 01, 2012. The open interval of the well is between 17.5 and 15.5 feet below land surface and the well is 20.0 feet deep. 
DATUM - Land-surface datum is 930.12 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Measuring point: top of casing, not protection casing and/or post, 2.42 ft above land-surface datum, Jan. 1, 2010 to present. The current measuring point is a black mark on the top of the PVC well casing (no protection post around casing), which was 2.42 feet above land surface on Aug. 01, 2012. Elevation of that measuring point was 932.54 plus-or-minus 0.06 feet above sea level, North American Vertical Datum of 1988, based on a RTK GPS survey on Sept. 18, 2012. 
PERIOD OF RECORD - Water levels were recorded periodically from Aug. 11, 1998 to the present. Water levels were recorded hourly from Sept. 11, 2012 at 14:00 CDT to Mar. 23, 2014 at 14:00 CDT.
GAGE -

Continuous water level, water temperature, and battery voltage were measured with an OTT Orpheus Mini 0-4m pressure transducer on Sept. 11, 2012 at 14:00 CDT. These data were recorded hourly by the same OTT Orpheus Mini pressure transducer, which had a datalogger built into it. The datalogger was housed inside of the 2-inch PVC well casing, which has an aluminum locking well cap on top of that. The gage was powered by 3 AA lithium batteries that were inside of the communications rod. Data were downloaded manually and no telemetry or phone line were wired into the gage.

An unheated Onset RG3 tipping-bucket raingage was added to the station on Sept. 11, 2012 at 14:00 CDT. The raingage was mounted on a green T-post, located approximately 400 ft. north of well ALUS-13, in the power transmission right-of-way area. The raingage had a built-in datalogger, which measured and recorded precipitation quarter-hourly. Raingage was nominally accurate to 0.01 inches.

This site was discontinued and the transducer and raingage was removed from the site on Mar. 23, 2014 at 14:34 CDT. The raingage was removed from the site on Mar. 23, 2014 at 13:30 CDT. The site is no longer being used for the I-94 Growth Corridor project, due to the well usually being dry.

This well is not currently gaged. Only visited periodically to measure discrete groundwater levels and periodically collect discrete water quality samples.

COOPERATION - This site is operated by the U.S. Geological Survey as a monitoring well for the Upper Mississippi (UMIS) National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) program. This well is included in the UMIS NAWQA Agricultural Land-Use Study (ALUS) network. The well was incorporated into the I-94 Growth Corridor Study during August 2012 to November 2014. The I-94 Growth Corridor Study was a collaborative effort between the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Geological Survey.
CLIMATOLOGICAL RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - Precipitation were recorded quarter-hourly from Sept. 11, 2012 at 13:30 CDT to Mar. 23, 2014 at 14:00 CDT.
INSTRUMENTATION - Precipitation is measured with an Onset RG3 tipping-bucket rain gage, which is accurate to 0.01 inches. The rain gage is unheated and uncovered during the winter. Thus precipitation data during freezing periods (about December through early April) result from melting of snow during warm periods and do NOT represent actual precipitation.
