LOCATION - Lat 18°13'52.50", long 66°40'44.97" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Utuado Municipio, PR, Hydrologic Unit 21010002,

on State Road 605, about 5.44 mi (8.70 km) northeast of the town of Adjuntas, 1.98 mi (3.17 km) southeast of Arenas Abajo School, and about 0.60 mi (0.96 km) northwest of La Inmaculada Concepción Church.

DRAINAGE AREA - 6.53 mi². (16.91 km2).

REVISIONS HISTORY - Datum of gage was previously reported in the site file as 1084 ft (330.4 m) above NGVD29 and LMSL-Old PR. NGVD29 datum does not exist in Puerto Rico and the correct LMSL-Old PR elevation is 1000 ft (304.8 m), published historical records did not reflect this site file typo. Revised to PRVD02 Datum of 999.3 ft. (304.6 m) in October 2022.

SURFACE-WATER RECORDS

GAGE - Water-stage recorder, satellite and radio telemetry at station. Datum of gage is 999.3 ft. (228.5 m) above Puerto Rico Vertical Datum of 2002 (PRVD02) and 0.7 ft. (0.21 m) below Local Mean Sea Level (LMSL- Old PR).

COOPERATION - Puerto Rico Electric and Power Authority (PREPA).

REMARKS - Lago Viví is a unit of the Caonillas Hydroelectric Project; is used to derive water from the Viví River towards the hydroelectric plant on Caonillas II and part of their waters is used by the Puerto Rico Acueduct and Sewer Authority (PRASA) for the consumption of the Utuado.

EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD - Maximum elevation 1,071.03 ft (326.45 m), September 19, 2011; minimum elevation, 1,047.11 ft (319.16 m) August 25, 2006.

INSTRUMENTATION - Tipping bucket precipitation gage and data collection platform – 15 minutes interval.
