LOCATION - Lat 18°14'09.44", long 66°27'17.38" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Orocovis Municipio, PR, Hydrologic Unit 21010002, on left bank, at bridge on State Road 157 (12.1 km) and 4.2 mi (6.8 km) west of Orocovis.
DRAINAGE AREA - 16.7 mi², (43.3 km2).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February 1959 to April 1966; annual low-flow measurements only, February to September 1969; occasional measurements only. October 1969 to September 1982, October 1988 to current year.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage, satellite telemetry at station. Datum of gage is 820 ft (250 m) above National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929, from topographic map.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - February to September 2006.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SUSPENDED SEDIMENT DISCHARGE: May 14,2006 to September 30, 2009, discontinued.
INSTRUMENTATION - Sediment pumping sampler from May 2006 to September 2009.
REMARKS - Part of Water-Quality Synoptic survey at streams in the Río Grande de Manatí Basin. Sediment samples were collected by a local observer on a weekly basis. During high flow events sediment samples were collected with automatic sediment sampler.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SEDIMENT CONCENTRATIONS: Maximum daily mean, 4,200 mg/L September 3, 2008; minimum daily mean, 1 mg/L several days during water year 2007. SEDIMENT LOADS: Maximum daily, 16,000 tons (14,500 tonnes) December 11, 2007, minimum daily, 0.02 ton (0.02 tonne) September 14,2007.
