LOCATION - Lat 18°15'01.70", long 67°04'32.74" referenced to North American Datum of 1927, Las Marias Municipio, PR, Hydrologic Unit 21010003, on right bank, 5.5 mi (8.8 km) west of Las Marías, 5.3 mi (8.5 km) northeast of Mayagüez, and 0.5 mi (0.8 km) east from bridge on State Road 108.
DRAINAGE AREA - 7.41 mi², (19.2 km2).
SURFACE-WATER RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1, 2003 to September 30, 2013; discontinued.
GAGE - Elevation of gage is 263 ft (80 m), above National Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929, from topographic map.
REMARKS - Record good, except for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
WATER-QUALITY RECORDS
PERIOD OF RECORD - December 25, 2003 to December 4, 2013; discontinued.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SUSPENDED-SEDIMENT DISCHARGE: October 1, 2003 to September 30, 2006; discontinued.
REMARKS - Sediment samples were collected by a local observer on a weekly basis. During high flow events sediment samples were collected with automatic sediment sampler.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD - SEDIMENT CONCENTRATIONS: Maximum daily mean, 1,710 mg/L July 13, 2005; minimum daily mean, 1 mg/L June 12, 2005. SEDIMENT LOADS: Maximum daily mean, 3,490 tons (3,170 tonnes) July 13, 2005; minimum daily mean, 0.03 ton (0.03 tonne) several days.
