side of Main Road (State Route 25), east side of access road to
Laurel Lake, Mattituck.
WELL CHARACTERISTICS.--Depth 45 ft. Upper casing
diameter 2 in; top of first opening 35 ft, bottom of last
opening 45 ft. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--June 2000 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-level recorder installed September 2004;
15-minute recording interval. Periodic manual measurements made
by USGS personnel.
REMARKS.--Replaced well S6558.1 in June 2000 near same
location. Satellite water-level telemeter at station.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Highest water level
recorded, 9.29 ft above NGVD 29, April 6, 7, 2010; lowest
recorded, 1.13 ft above NGVD 29, October 6, 7, 2005.
