Highway 44 at East Sidney, 4.4 mi upstream from mouth, and 4.5
mi east of Unadilla.
DRAINAGE AREA.--103 mi².

GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is NGVD of
1929. To convert elevations to NAVD of 1988, subtract 0.41

REMARKS.--Lake is formed by concrete dam and rockfill
dike, completed by Corps of Engineers in June 1950; regulation
of outflow began in November 1949; first used for flood
regulation on Mar. 28, 1950. Usable capacity, 32,700 acre-ft
between elevations 1,115.0 ft (sill of conduits) and 1,203.0 ft
(crest of spillway). Dead storage 7 acre-ft. Figures given
herein represent total contents. Discharge is controlled by the
operation of five gates. Water is stored during high flows and
released when downstream conditions warrant. Lake is used for
flood control and recreation.
