> Site Information
LOCATION.--Lat 41°27'14.2", long 74°35'21.5" referenced to North American Datum of 1983, Orange County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 02040104, on right bank on downstream side of bridge on Galley Hill Road, 0.3 mi upstream from mouth, 1.0 mi southeast of Cuddebackville, and 2.8 mi southwest of Otisville.
DRAINAGE AREA.--70.3 mi².
PERIOD OF RECORD.--Miscellaneous measurements--1945, 1955-61, 1965, 1970, 1976, 2004-08. October 2019 to September 2020 (discontinued).
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 476.57 ft above NAVD of 1988.
REMARKS.--Stage-discharge relation affected by backwater during high flows along Neversink River (station 01437500). Water Year 2020: Records fair except those for estimated daily discharges, which are poor.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, about 681 ft³/s, Apr. 14, 2020; maximum gage height, 5.08 ft, Apr. 14, 2020, affected by backwater; maximum discharge measured, 774 ft³/s, June 28, 2006; minimum discharge, 12.2 ft³/s, Aug. 3, 2020, gage height, 0.54 ft; minimum gage height, 0.52 ft, June 23, 2020; minimum discharge measured, 11.0 ft³/s, July 7, 1965.
PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD1.--WATER TEMPERATURE: October 2019 to September 2020. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: October 2019 to September 2020.
INSTRUMENTATION1.--A continuous water-quality monitor with water temperature and specific conductance provides 15-minute-interval readings.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF DAILY RECORD1.--WATER TEMPERATURE: Maximum, 24.6 °C, Aug. 12, 2020; minimum, -0.1 °C, Dec. 19, 2019. SPECIFIC CONDUCTANCE: Maximum, 176 uS/cm at 25 °C, Sept. 14, 2020, but may have been higher during periods of instrument malfunction; minimum, 46 uS/cm at 25 °C, Apr. 14, 2020, but may have been lower during periods of instrument malfunction.
