LOCATION.--Lat 40°42'36", long
73°43'35" referenced to North American Datum of 1927,
Nassau County, NY, Hydrologic Unit 02030202, at west side of
Cross Island Parkway exit ramp (Hempstead Turnpike eastbound),
21 ft south of Hempstead Turnpike, Elmont.
WELL CHARACTERISTICS.--Depth 353 ft. Upper casing diameter 4 in; top of first opening 349 ft, bottom of last opening 353 ft. Datum of gage is NGVD of 1929.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--April 1964 to current year. Unpublished records for April 1964 to September 1975 are available in files of the U.S. Geological Survey.
GAGE.--Water-level recorder installed December 1999; 15-minute recording interval. Periodic manual measurements made by USGS personnel.
REMARKS.--Cellular water-level telemeter at station. Water-levels influenced by nearby pumping until 1984.
EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Highest water level recorded, 39.84 ft above NGVD of 1929, May 8, 2010; lowest measured, 3.52 ft above NGVD of 1929, Aug. 8, 1982.
