unreliable and should not be used), annual maximum gage heights
only--1988-90, published as "at Tompkins St. Bridge"
(01503495), July 2009 to current year (gage heights only). Gage-height
records since 1901 collected by, and in the files of, National Weather
Service at Binghamton.
Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is 821.49 ft above
NGVD of 1929 and 821.02 ft above NAVD of 1988 (VERTCON). 1901 to 2009,
nonrecording gage operated by National Weather Service.
Minor regulation by upstream lakes and reservoirs.
Gage height occasionally affected by backwater from Chenango River. The
Binghamton concrete floodwall and earthen levee flood protection works
were completed in 1943.
