03129000 Tuscarawas River at Newcomerstown, OH LOCATION.--Lat 40°15'41", long 81°36'33", Tuscarawas County, OH, Hydrologic Unit 05040001, on right bank 150 ft upstream from highway bridge, 0.2 mi south of Newcomerstown, 2 mi upstream from Buckhorn Creek, and 4 mi downstream from Dunlap Creek. DRAINAGE AREA.--2,443 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--September 1921 to current year. REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 728: 1929(M). WSP 873: 1935. WSP 1907: Drainage area. REMARKS.--Diversion from basin at Portage Lakes (see REMARKS for station 03117000). Flow regulated by eight flood-control reservoirs at points 40 mi to 64 mi upstream. Water-quality data formerly collected at this site. EXTREMES OUTSIDE PERIOD OF RECORD.--Flood in Mar. 1913 reached a stage of about 21.5 ft, at site and datum used prior to Oct. 1, 1934; discharge, 83,000 ft3/s, computed by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
