Station gage imageSTATION.--03080000 LAUREL HILL CREEK AT URSINA, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 39`49'13", long 79`19'18", Somerset County, Hydrologic Unit 05020006, on right bank 500 ft downstream from bridge on State Highway 281 at Ursina, and 2.7 mi upstream from mouth.
DRAINAGE AREA.--121 square miles.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--August to September 1913 (gage heights and discharge measurements only), October 1918 to current year. Monthly discharge only for some periods, published in WSP 1305. October 1913 to September 1918 (gage heights and discharge measurements only) in reports of Water Supply Commission of Pennsylvania.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and masonry control. Datum of gage is 1,334.3 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to July 18, 1939, non-recording gage at bridge 0.5 mi downstream at datum 6.20 ft lower. Prior to January 4, 2024, the datum of gage was erroneously reported as 1,335.26 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION.--Station established and maintained by the U.S. Geological Survey. Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
