Station gage imageSTATION.--01449800 POHOPOCO CREEK BELOW BELTZVILLE LAKE NEAR PARRYVILLE, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 40`50'44", long 75`38'46", Carbon County, Hydrologic Unit 02040106, on right bank 0.1 mi upstream from Sawmill Run, 0.4 mi downstream from Beltzville Dam, 1.3 mi upstream from Bull Run, and 2.3 mi northeast of Parryville.
DRAINAGE AREA.--96.4 square miles.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1967 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder, crest-stage gage, water-quality monitor, and concrete control. Datum of gage is 491.4 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988, from GNSS RTN Survey. Prior to November 2022 and April 18, 2023, the datum of gage was reported as 492.05 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite and landline telemetry at station.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, and the U.S. Geological Survey.
REMARKS.--Flow regulated for entire period of record by Wild Creek Reservoir, Penn Forest Reservoir, and Beltzville Lake. Diversion upstream from Tunhannock Creek to Wild Creek Basin since October 1969.
