STATION.--03029000 CLARION RIVER AT RIDGWAY, PA
LOCATION.--Lat 41`25'15", long 78`44'10", Elk County, Hydrologic Unit 05010005, at bridge on State Highway 948 in Ridgway, 300 ft below the mouth of Elk Creek.
DRAINAGE AREA.--303 square miles.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--1940 to 1953, 1954 to 1993 (measurements only). 1994 to September 2017 (annual peaks only). October 2017 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder and crest-stage gage. Datum of gage is 1354.5 ft above North American Vertical Datum of 1988. Prior to Oct 12, 1962, at site 200 ft upstream, at datum 6.74 ft higher. Prior to April 5, 2023, the datum of gage was reported as 1354.88 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (from benchmark). Also, prior to March 30, 2011 and April 5, 2023, the datum of gage was erroneously reported as 1361.62 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929. Satellite and landline telemetry at station.

REMARKS.--Flow regulated since June 1952 by East Branch Clarion River Lake and at low flow by industrial plant above station. Daily discharge not available prior to Oct 1, 2017.
