[!] ICE EFFECTS ON STREAMFLOW -- During cold weather, stage and discharge values may be affected by ice at some streamgages. Streamgages experiencing ice conditions will have the discharge record temporarily disabled to prevent the display of erroneous discharge values. Display of discharge record will resume when it is determined that ice conditions are no longer present. Adjustment of data affected by ice can only be done after detailed analysis.

Station gage imageSTATION.--03047000 LOYALHANNA CREEK AT LOYALHANNA DAM, PA.
LOCATION.--Lat 40`27'32", long 79`26'58", Westmoreland County, Hydrologic Unit 05010008, on left bank 1,030 ft downstream from Loyalhanna Dam, 1.8 mi south of Saltsburg and 4.7 mi upstream from confluence with Conemaugh River.
DRAINAGE AREA.--290 square miles.
PERIOD OF RECORD.--1940-1991, 2005-2009 (discharge measurements only), 2010 to current year.
GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 889.38 ft above National Geodetic Vertical Datum of 1929 (U. S. Army Corps of Engineers benchmark). Satellite telemetry at station.
COOPERATION.--Funding for the operation of this station is provided by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District.
GAGE HEIGHTS OF IMPORTANCE.-
Supplied by NWS: Flood stage-5.5 ft
REMARKS.--Flow completely regulated by Loyalhanna Lake (Station 03046850), 0.2 mi. upstream, and Latrobe Reservoir, combined capacity 99,000 acre-ft.
This station managed by the PAWSC Pittsburgh Field Office.
